תקציר:
בעבודתי הראשונה לאחר שחרורי מהצבא עבדתי במשרד עו"ד. זמני העבודה לא היו קבועים ובמהלך היום היו גם שעות מתות. בשעות אלו כאשר לא הייתה עבודה העברתי את זמני בשיחות טלפון לבני משפחה וחברים, ציטוט באינטרנט, טיפול בסידורים מחיי היום יום וכדומה, וכל זאת בעזרת משאבי החברה (טלפון, מחשב, פקס וכדומה).

מכאן נשאלת השאלה האם אותן פעולות הברורות לנו העובדים ומתקבלות על דעתנו, מתקבלות גם על דעת החברה בה אנו עובדים, האם שימוש במשאבי החברה פוגע ברווחיותה שזו המטרה הראשית של החברה.

משאבי הארגון כוללים: מחשבים, רשת האינטרנט, קווי תקשורת, קווי טלפון, פקסים, מכונות צילום, וכד'.

כיום לרוב העובדים ברוב החברות יש גישה ישירה לכל משאב ומשאב הנמצא בחברה, מכאן יכולים עובדים לנצל את תפקידם ואת גישתם למשאבים אלו למטרותיהם האישיות ו/או לגרום נזק לחברה בזדון או שלא בזדון.

הדילמה שמתעוררת מבעיות אלו היא:
האם מוסרי שימוש העובדים במשאבי מקום העבודה לצרכים פרטיים?

האם ייחשב שימוש שכזה למוסרי?
מדוע אסור מבחינה מוסרית שימוש במשאבי הארגון?
מה הגבול בין המותר לאסור?
על מי מוטלת החובה לקביעת כללים מוסריים מוגדרים?
האם שימוש חופשי במשאבי החברה גורע מתפוקתו של עובד?
האם הגבלת שימוש במשאבים ופיקוח על עובדים פוגע ברווחת העובד?
